Grouping & Layering with Altenew

Hello Friends! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?

Welcome back to my Studio!

Altenew AECP…

I’m so happy to be back again with another fabulously fun project for the Altenew’s Educator Program!

For this project I am working on grouping and layering.

Whimsical Flowers…

I decided to work with Altenew’s “Whimsical Flowers Bundle”

This is a super fun stamp set with numerous possibilities. I played around with all my elements for what seemed like too long, until I settled on this design.

Color Palette…

I chose a vibrant color palette to make these beauties pop.

I started off by inking all of the outline images with Altenew’s Dark Chocolate Crisp Dye Ink on white cardstock.

The inside layering of the Whimsical Flowers were inked by alternating colors of Cotton Candy & Peach Parfait. The leaves, from the same set, were inked with Sea Forest Crisp Dye Ink

I also inked up more leaves from Altenew’s “Leaf Canopy Bundle” with Sea Forest Crisp Dye Ink, only using the layered stamps.

Card Base…

For my card base I cut a piece of black textured cardstock to 5×7. I layered a piece of Kraft cardstock and white cardstock on top of my black card base using my glue pen.

Then, I die cut a piece of pink icing cardstock that I blended with seedless preserves distress inks and spattered a little white ink…a little goes a long way!

I attached my pink distressed panel with double-sided foam adhesive sheet for stability.

Grouping & Layering…

Now for the fun part! I arranged my stamped whimsical flowers in groups of 3 to the corners of my pink panel. When I was satisfied with the placement, I attached the die cut green leaves first with foam dots and then added the stamped flowers.

Beautiful Day…

I planned on giving this one away for Mother’s Day. Although the recipient is not my mother, I wanted the message to recognize a special day… so I think I chose the perfect sentiment from Altenew’s “Beautiful Day” Stamp Set

I die cut “Wish You the Most Beautiful Day” with a stitched banner die. I attached the sentiment with foam dots and offset it slightly to the center of my card.

Final Touches…

At this point, I almost left my card design as is, but…no, not possible for me! I have way to much fun adding a few final touches to all of my designs.

I think a few black sequins was a great addition to tie my design together, but I needed something more…no surprise, right?!

I decided to die cut a lovely Floral Border Die from white cardstock and tucked it under the whimsical flowers in the lower left corner of my pink distressed panel.

I added a few more smaller flowers from the Whimsical Flowers stamp set to the greenery…and with that, my card was finished.

I hope I have inspired you today to try something new, or simply create something Fabulously Beautiful using Altenew

I’m sure you will be able to find something in their store to spark your creativity!
