A Treasure

Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio! I’m so glad you joined me today!

SPORTY SUMMER PUPS…

Today I’m back to share this super cute mini slimline summer card and once again, I couldn’t resist using one of Ink n’ Splatter’s NEW SIZZLING SUMMER Release Stamp Sets.

I created this card using the Sporty Summer Pups Stamp Set and a watercolor background

LET’S CREATE…

I stamped my little pup on marker paper and colored it with Copic Markers. Then I cut my image out using the coordinating die set and moved it aside to work on my background.

Watercoloring…

For my cover background, I die cut an oval in the center of a piece of watercolor paper and then pulled out my watercolors and began playing with colors of blue, pinks, and oranges. Once I was happy with the colors, I splattered water droplets and white ink .

A Shadow Box…

It actually wasn’t my intention to create a shadow box card, but that’s exactly what it turned out to be…happens sometimes, right?! I often change directions in the middle of my process.

Now that I decided to create a shadow box, I had to create another background for the inside of my design. I cut a piece of white card stock and ink blended it with hues of blue and the splatters it with shimmery liquid ink and spritzed it with water to give texture to my scene.

I also die cut several leafy plants from white card stock that I used as underwater vegetation

You Are a Treasure…

I stamped my sentiment with hybrid ink color and die cut it using a stitched banner die

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER…

Ok so now I have all my pieces, it is time to put it all together.

I added a piece of acetate to the back of my watercolor panel and cut 2 strips approximately 1″ x 6.5″ and scored them on each long side at .25″. I also cut two more strips approximately 1″ x 4.5″ and scored them on the long side at .25″

I attached my image and a few plants on the ink blended panel and dotted them with clear enamel dots to look like bubbles.he I added the rest of the plants and a few more dots around my watercolor panel.

I attached the 1″ scored strips to all sides of both the top and bottom panels to form my shadow box.

I attached my sentiment and a few more little sequins and my card was finished

I hope I have inspired you to simply create something Fabulously Fun & Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
