Foxy Friends
Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio! I’m so glad you joined me today!
I am finally getting around to posting this lovely card I created from the inspiration of the Episode #180 of Craft Roulette Live
The Parameters for this Episode are:
- Project: Card with a Belly Band
- Element: Good
- Colors: Daisy Garden
- Random: Bark
I created a Belly Band using Ink n’ Splatter‘s “Hello Spring” Pattern Paper and the adorable “Happy Fall Foxes” Stamp Set. You will see that I added a few more images from that stamp set inside my fun fold card.
Fun Fold with Side Flaps…
I created a fun fold card with side flaps for this project. The card base is a panel that measures 4.25″ x 5.5″ I cut a piece of white card stock to. 4″ x 10.5″ and scored it at 5.25.
I embossed another panel (4″ x 5.25″) with a bark design and attached it to the front of my folded card. For the side flaps, I cut and embossed 2 pieces of white card stock measuring 3″ x 3″ and scored them down the middle from corner to corner. Then I attached them towards the top of the back of my folded card and then attached the folded card to my panel base creating a card flap. To decorate the front flap I cut a piece of patten paper from the “Hello Spring” Pager Collection and attached it to the top flap of the card.
Happy Fall Foxes…
The fun fold card is well..FUN, but my focal point is my adorable “Happy Fall Foxes” . I stamped these little cuties with hybrid ink and colored them up with Copic markers (color guide below) and die cut them out with the coordinating die set.
I die cut a scalloped circle from white card stock and another smaller circle from a piece of the “Hello Spring” Pager Collection. From the same pattern, I cut , 1″ strips and connected them together to make a 12″ strip for my belly band. If you are using 12″ paper, you will only need 1 strip for your belly band.
Opening Up for a sweet Surprise…
When the front flap is lifted, there is a wonderful place to write your message. For the inside of this fun fold card, I cut another piece of pattern paper (the same pattern I used for the belly band) and attached to the open panel. I also die cut another piece of white card stock with a a double stitched pattern and attached it to the pattern paper panel for you to easily write your message.
I couldn’t resist decorating the inside with another sweet fox from the “Happy Fall Foxes” Stamp Set and a couple cute bugs.
A Good Friend…
My sentiment is from Ink n’ Splatter‘s “Pond Life” Stamp Set.I stamped my sentiment, “Life is Better with a Good Friend” with a coordinating ink color. I separated the sentiment by masking off the words I wanted to divide and then cut them out with a stitched banner die. The sentiment strips were then attached with foam adhesive and placed on both top and bottom of the top panel to be seen when the flaps are closed and secured.
Belly Band…
To assemble the Belly Band, I placed the patterned stitched circle on the scalloped circle with foam adhesive and added my two little foxes on top of the circles al so with foam adhesive to give it more dimension.
Then I attached the circles to the pattern strip and scored it approximately 3.75″ on both ends and glued the strip together to fold comfortably around my card.
I slipped the belly band over my card and my card was done!
