Happy Holidays & A Very Cool New Year
Hello Friends!
Welcome back to my Studio!
Holiday Cheer…
We are so excited to announce that Ink n’ Splatter has a New Release out for Christmas & Winter!
Today I am featuring a little Holiday Cheer with the Winter Holiday Penguins Stamp set and the coordinating Die Set
This stamp set comes with 6 adorable Winter Holiday inspired Penguins and assorted elements to help you create the perfect Christmas/Winter greeting cards, tags, and many other craft projects.
Let’s Color…
I stamped my images on white marker paper with black hybrid ink and colored them with Copic Markers (full supply list below)
Background…
I wanted to create a frosty feeling for this card so I decided to use watercolors for my background. I love the way the watercolors flow and create texture, and dimension naturally.
If you are not familiar with watercolors, no worries! I used water color powders to create this background.
Just a sprinkle small amounts of powder, add a little spritz, or a lot of spritz, of water and watch it transform into something beautiful! Go ahead! Give it a try! No two are ever the same! And… you can easily mix colors for stunning results. So fun!
Card Base…
My card base is a mini slimline. I love a mini slimline. They are just a wonderful look! I also decided to use a piece of colorful blue tone polka dot paper from Ink n’ Splatter Winter Blues Paper Pack
Wishing You Happy Holidays & A Very Cool New Year…
The sweet sentiment is also from the Winter Holiday Penguins Stamp Set which I stamped using a coordinating Blue Ink and the die cut it using a super cute stitched banner die and attached it to blue cardstock
Putting it all together…
I folded a piece of blue cardstock in half and attached piece of White Cardstock leaving a small border. I repeated this again with the blue polka dot paper.
I attached my watercolor background with a piece of double-sided adhesive to give it dimension. then I die cut a couple of stitched snow drifts and attached them with double-sided adhesive as well.
I arranged and placed my little penguins with double-sided adhesive along the snow drifts and created shadows in the snow with Watercolors. Then I added my sentiment to the top left corner of my slimline card.
Snowflakes & Glitter…
I die cut a few Snowflakes and dotted the centers with glitter enamel dots to give it a little sparkle. It’s hard to see in the pic, but I also added some sparkle to the snow with a little shimmer.
I splattered some white ink on the background to look like falling snow, and placed a few clear ice dots to finish my card.
I hope I have inspired you to try something new, or simply create something Fabulously Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
