It’s Pumpkin Time

Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio!

Happy Thanksgiving! Are you ready for some Pie?

Gnome My Pumpkin Pie…

Today I’m sharing a super cute and very simple fancy fold card “It’s Pumpkin Time”  using “Gnome My Pumpkin Pie” Stamp Set, and coordinating Die Set inspired by episode #189 of Craft Roulette.

This card is very much an untraditional Thanksgiving Card, and probably doesn’t make sense to you in the traditional world…but when you read the challenge parameters, it will make perfect sense.

CHALLENGE PARAMETERS…

The challenge parameters for this project are:

  • Project: Fancy Fold
  • Element: November
  • Colors: Aquarium
  • Random: Cluster of 3

Now you can see where I’m going with this.

CARD PROJECT…

To get started, I scored a piece of 8.5″ x11″ white card stock at 4.25″ x 5.5″ and then cut it down the middle on the long side. Now I actually have 2 cards for my fancy fold…2 cards with 1 piece of card stock! Great right?!

November…

November is Fall, Thanksgiving, Pumpkin Pie, and lots of Pumpkins! This bright and cheerful has all of November… and even an adorable chubby little Gnome!

Gnome My Pumpkin Pie…

Now that I have my base, it is time to color and bring this fancy fold to life. I stamped and colored my image from Ink n’ Splatter “Gnome My Pumpkin Pie” Stamp Set and then cut him out using the coordinating Die Set.

I colored this little cutie using Copic Markers (color chart below)

Background…

If you have been following me, you may have heard me say that playin along with the Craft Roulette challenges are so much fun because I find myself creating cards that I probably never would have created if it weren’t for the parameters.

This card is no exception! I probably never would have created an Aquamarine Thanksgiving Card…but here it is…and you know, I really like it!

So I met the Aquarium Color Parameters. I used a couple of different pattern paper collections from Ink n’ Splatter for this card.

Blue Sandy Summer Summer Breeze

I cut a couple of slices to fit the triangles on top and bottom flaps leaving a white border around them. I really don’t measure my panels….I just eyeball them and hope of r the best!

It’s Pumpkin Time and You Gnome It…

Yes! It is definitely Pumpkin time! And you “GNOME” it! There are a few sentiments with this stamp set. I loved “It’s Pumpkin Time and You Gnome It” for this card.

I stamped the sentiment and die cut it using a cute banner Die. Then I mounted it on a piece of scrap pattern paper from one of my panels.

Lots of Room…

The great feature of this style card is there is lots of room inside for your message or even a gift card.

I dressed up my interior with the same pattern paper I used on the cover to keep everything cohesive.

Cluster of Three…

The las parameter called for a cluster of three. I thought about adding more pumpkins or even some more sunflowers but I didn’t want to make it cluttered I decided to add 3 white sparkly bling dots in the upper right corner flap. And with that, my Fancy Fun Fold, Aquarium colored, November card was finished.
