Quick & Simple Cheerful Chick

Can you tell…I’m having so much fun playing with my new “Feathered Friends” Stamp Bundle by Gina K Designs.

Today I’m sharing a quick & super simple card using one of my little Chicks from the set.

Stamping & Coloring

I started off by stamping my little Chick & Eggs with Black Onyx Dye ink on marker paper. Then I colored my them with Copic Markers (color chart below)

Creating My Background…

First I die cut a stitched panel from White Layering Weight card stock, then I masked off the sides of my panel with Masking Magic Strips to protect the stitching design. Then I stamped my checkerboard border across the high middle of my panel. Just above my border, I ink blended a small area with Gina K Designs Butterscotch Dye Ink.

Then I stamped my sentiment just below the border. With my background panel complete, I die cut a piece of Kraft Card Stock for the mat to my background panel and cut another mat slightly larger in Black Onyx Card Stock to place behind the Kraft mat.

Card Base…

For my Card Base, I cut and scored a piece of White Artist Choice Heavy Weight card stock to make a an A2 size card. Then I embossed another piece of card stock with a Lattice Embossing Folder and attached it to my card base.

Then I added my 2 mats and stitched panel over the lattice embossed panel and attached my Chick and her Eggs, with foam adhesive, over the inked area on the upper section of my card.

A few Gold Pearls and my card was finished.
