Retro Sweetness

Hello Friends!

Welcome to back my Studio!

Today, I am excited to share another a card with you that I created using my stamp set, “Sweet Friendships”, that I designed for Gina K Designs!

Retro Sweetness…

This was such a fun card to create! I paired my “Sweet Friendships” with Lisa Hetrick’s, “Kindred Spirits” Stamp Set for Gina K Designs. Just the names of stamp sets make them a fabulous pair, don’t you think?!

Stamping & Inking…

I first created my larger background panel by inking up a few flowers from the “Kindred Spirits” Stamp Set and randomly stamped them on a piece of white card stock. Then I cut my panel out using a stitched rectangle die. I also die cut another panel, slightly larger, from white card stock to create a frame around my stamped background panel.

For my smaller background panel, I grabbed a piece of white card stock that I had dipped in some extra splattered ink from my glass palette. I never like to waste ink, so instead of simply wiping off my glass mat, I absorb the extra ink on some card stock and keep it for other projects…this is one of those projects

This inked panel worked perfectly with the colors of my larger background. So I die cut it with a smaller stitched rectangle and a slightly larger white panel.

Sweet Friendships…

Now that my background panels are finished, I began working on my sweet little bear. I stamped this image, and the sentiment, using Black Onyx Dye Ink on white card stock and colored her using Copic Alcohol Markers.

I decided to do minimal coloring for this little bear and turned her into a super cute Polar Bear 🙂 Not much cuter than a Polar Bear in a dress with a wagon full of flowers! She will surely make you or someone special smile!

Retro Sweet…

So that just happened…I honestly didn’t plan on creating a retro vibe for this card but as you can see, retro sweet is what it turned out to be! And I really liked it so I went with it!

A Few Extra Blooms…

I stamped a few extra little flowers from the “Kindred Spirits” Stamp Set using coordinating ink colors on another piece of ink splattered paper and fussy cut them out so I can place them around my card to bring the florals to life.

Putting it All Together…

I cut a piece of white card stock to an A2 size tent fold card for my base. Then I added my floral background panels to the base of my card. I attached the smaller inked panels with foam adhesive to give my card some dimension and then I attached my Polar Bear, Sentiment and few of the extra blooms and leaves to tie everything together.

A few coordinating sequins to give my card some bling and my Retro Sweet card was finished!

Here’s list of all the Gina K Designs products I used for this sweet card and my full supply list is below.
