Slow Down & Enjoy

Hello Friends!

Welcome back to my Studio!

Today I am sharing super cute shaker card with you!

Pond Life…

So, for my card today, I am using “Pond Life” from my Ink n’ Splatter Clear Stamps

With 4 adorable frogs, 2 sweet turtles, many coordinating elements to create super cute scenes, cute little bugs, small chicks, and 8 pond inspired sentiments, this set id packed full of creative possibilities for all occasions, all year round.

Stamping & Coloring…

I stamped these lovable pond dwellers on white marker paper with black hybrid ink, colored them with Copic Markers (full supply list below),

Then I cut them out using the Pond Life coordinating dies and set them aside to work on my background and shaker window.

Card Base…

For my card base, I cut and folded a piece of white cardstock to form an A2 size card.

Background…

And, for my background I used one of the coordinating patterns from “On the Pond” Paper Pack

As you can see, there are many coordinating designs to choose from!

Shake Shake Shake…

If you follow me at all, you already know I LOVE shaker cards!

They are so fun, colorful, creative, irresistible and of course, I could go on but…I’m sure you can fill in your own blanks 😉

So, for my shaker window, I die cut a rectangle from white cardstock and then I die cut a square from the rectangle to give it a polaroid picture look.

The dies weren’t stitched, but I always enjoy a good stitch look, so I took this opportunity to add some stitch dots around my de cut polaroid with a coordinating color.

Stenciling & Blending…

Since I’m using the cute little frog peeking up from the water for the center of my shaker, I decided to carry a water look behind the frog by stenciling some waves on a piece of white cardstock.

Then I created a t well with double-sided adhesive to hold my shaker bits and sealed it by adding a piece of clear acetate behind my polaroid opening.

Slow Down…

On a separate piece of white cardstock, I stamped my sentiment, “Slow Down & Enjoy Your Day” with a coordinating color ink…

…and then I die cut it out with a super cute, stitched banner.

Putting It All Together…

I cut my pattern paper slightly smaller than my card base and attached it with double-sided adhesive to give my card a little dimension.

Then I placed my shaker window on a slight angle toward the upper center of my card, also with double-sided adhesive.

Once my card base was set up, I added my images on and around my shaker window with dimensional foam.

Then I attached my banner sentiment toward the bottom of my card and added a coordinating-colored enamel dot.

and with that, my “Slow Down & Enjoy” Pond Life card is finished.

I hope I have inspired you to try something new, or simply create something Fabulously Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
