Sweet Dreams

Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio! I’m so glad you joined me today!

Today I am sharing a super cute little Square Card that I created for Craft Roulette (episode #175).

I started playing along with Craft Roulette Live when Ink n’ Splatter became one of the Spin Sponsors for July. I couldn’t believe how much fun it was and after the first episode I was hooked! I’ll try to keep playing along whenever time allows!

If you have never seen Craft Roulette, you must check it out! You will be amazed how inspiring it is to create using specific parameters!

Challenge PARAMETERS…

  • The “Project” Parameter called for a “4.25 Square”
  • The “Colors” Parameter called for “Craft Roulette”
  • The “Elements” Parameter called for “Night”
  • The “Random” Parameter called to “Bottom Border”

Sweet Dreams…

After seeing the Parameters, I had a few thoughts of several different Stamp Sets I could use for this one but decided to go with my super sweet “Wooly Lambs” Stamp Set

This set has has a lot of little wooly cuties, so pulling from this stamp set is easy on so many levels!

Coloring…

I stamped my image on marker paper with black hybrid ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I colored it with Copic markers. I also stamped a few clouds from the set with a coordinating ink color.

CARD BASE…

My card base was a simple 4.25″ square cut from cardstock. I cut another 4.25″ panel from black textured cardstock as the top layer.

Background…

For my background I blended a combination of blues to create a night sky and splattered it with drops of water, white ink, and shimmer.

Border…

I ink blended another square with a lighter coordinating color and die cut it with a stitched border die. Then I die cut a couple more stitched cloud borders for contrast and depth.

Putting it All Together…

I offset my cloud borders and attached them to the bottom of my blended panel with adhesive foam to give my card some depth.

I fought myself on adding a sentiment bu since my card was small, I decided to leave the sentiment off the front of the card…I can always add one inside later.

I decided to arrange my stamped clouds around the cover instead and placed my sweet little sleeping lamb in the center of my card.

Finishing Touches…

For my finishing touches, I added some more shimmer to my background and placed s few teeny tiny gold stars randomly around the night sky.

And with that, my little square card was finished!

hope I have inspired you to simply create something Fabulously Fun & Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.

I hope you get a chance to view the Craft Roulette Live on YouTube most Friday evenings for a great way to unwind, laugh a little and craft alongside some fabulously “FUNN” people!

Be sure to leave a comment, if you have enjoyed this project.
