The Icing on My Cupcake

Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio!

Today I am sharing a simple, super cute, little, square easel card.

For this project, I am using Ink n’ Splatter‘s  “Cupcake Kitties” Stamp Set,  Coordinating Die Set, and “Sweet Celebrations” Pattern Paper

LET’S Get Started…

I stamped my image on marker paper and colored it with Copic Markers. Then I cut it out using the coordinating die and set it aside to work on my card base.

Card Base Measurements…

You can certainly use any size card you like, but for my personal preference, I wanted this adorable kitty to the focal point so I decided on a smaller size.

For my little square easel card, I cut a piece of white card stock to 3.75″ x 7″ and folded it in half. Then I scored my top piece from the top right corner to the bottom left corner so I could fold it inward.

Not so hard, right? Here’s a top view…

Decorating…

Now for the fun part! On the front of my card, I chose the ice cream and cupcake pattern paper from the “Sweet Celebrations”  pad. I cut it approximately 3.25″ x 3.25 to leave a slight boarder around the edges and then I sliced it from the top right corner to the bottom left corner to make two separate pieces.

But I also had to sheer off a little more the long edges so my top base to fold properly look cohesive. I also cut another 3.25″ x3.25″ piece of pattern from the same paper collection to place on the inside of my card.

Then I die cut a super cute stitched scalloped circle from the same pattern paper I used on the inside of my card, and another smaller stitched circle from white card stock to serve as the base for my Kitty.

Sentiment…

I stamp my sentiment, “You are the Icing on My Cupcake” with a coordinating ink color, and die cut it, from white card stock, using a very cute stitched rectangle die.

Putting it All Together…

Ok now that I have all my pieces cut, it is time to assemble this little cutie!

Cover…

On the front cover I glued my 2 pieces of pattern paper to the right and left corners. Then I attached my two die cut circles with double sided adhesive and place my cute kitty on top, also with double sided adhesive to give my card some dimension. Then, I attached my image to the right side only in order to be able to fold the top to form the easel.

Inside…

I glued the square pattern paper to the inside of my card. Then I attached my Sentiment using double sided adhesive to lift it off the page and be able to hold my folded cover in place to make the easel.

Finishing Touches…

As cute as this little easel card turned out, I just had to add a few extras! I tied a couple of pieces of coordination bakers twine the right side of the inside card and added s few coordinating enamel dots tp the sentiment just for fun! Yo may not be able to see it in the pictures, but ai also added a hint of glitter to the cupcake frosting to make it pop!

I hope I have inspired you to simply create something Fabulously Fun & Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
