Sometimes it’s the Simple Things
Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio!
NEW Monthly CHallenge…
Ink n’ Splatter is hosting a July Color Challenge and GIVEAWAY starting today, July1!
Summertime Pups…
I couldn’t resist using one of Ink n’ Splatter’s NEW Summertime Pups Stamp Set
and the NEW Watermelon Lemonade Pattern Paper to create my rocker sample for the July Color Challenge
LET’S CREATE…
I stamped my images on marker paper and colored it with Copic Markers. Then I cut it out using the coordinating die and set it aside to work on my card base.
Card Base…
For my Card Base, I die cut two scalloped circles, one smaller than the other, from Kraft card stock. Then I scored the larger circle in half and folded it over to create my rocker base. The smaller circle will be used, along with a stitched circle I die cut from white card stock, for my image base.
I also die cut a stitched circle die from a piece of pattern paper from the Watermelon Lemonade Pattern Paper and cut it in half to attach to my Kraft Rocker Card Base.
Then I die a few palm leaves and blended a little color just for fun !
Sometimes it’s the Simple Things…
I stamped my sentiment with a coordinating ink color and die cut it using a stitched banner die
Putting it all Together…
Once I had all my images colored and elements die cut and colored, it was time to assemble my Rocker Card.
I attached my pattern paper to my Kraft rocker card base. Then I attached my image to the white stitched circle using double sided adhesive to give it some dimension.
I added a little color wash behind my image to make it pop. Then I attached my image panel to the smaller Kraft scallop circle and placed on the upper center of my rocker.
I attached my sentiment on the lower part of my rocker and added a couple of cocktails to either side of my sentiment. I also placed my die cut palms behind my image panel and a couple more behind one of the cocktail. A few coordinating enamel dots and my card was finished.
I hope I have inspired you to simply create something Fabulously Fun & Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
