Treasured Kittens Butterfly Garden

Hello Friends…
Welcome to back my Studio!

Gina K Designs is having their March Release Party and I am excited to have another opportunity to illustrate a NEW Stamp Set for Gina K Designs

This super sweet stamp set is called  “Treasured Kittens” and I am happy to say it is a part of this fabulous new March Release!

Treasured Kittens

A lovable kitten lovers stamp set for all occasions.

Who can really resist a little Kitten?! Well whether you love kittens or not this sweet stamp set will surely put a smile on your face or someone else you know.

This 6″x8″ stamp set includes 4 adorable, huggable kitten stamps, 2 little fluttering butterflies, 2 butterfly silhouettes, a little grass silhouette, and 3 beautiful sentiments that can be used all year long, alone or with any other products by Gina K Designs, not to mention, you can mix and match them with  other stamp sets that I designed for Gina K Designs.

For my first card I created a super cute little whimsical scene…

You Never Know…

“You Never Know What Treasures You’ll Find Until You Stop and Look” is my sentiment for this adorable card.

Reflection: It’s true you know. Sometimes we can be way too busy, or distracted with life, to notice even the simplest of treasures in our daily life. Take a moment to stop and look around you…what makes you smile, what brings you joy, what are you grateful for, what have you been blessed with?

Stamping & Coloring…

I stamped my Sentiment, Kitten & Butterflies on marker paper with Black Onyx Premium Dye Ink using my Misti and my new Grip Mat by Gina K Designs.

I colored my images with Copic Alcohol Markers. I prefer to use marker paper because it has a smooth finish which allows the ink to glide over the paper for an easy blend.

Then I inked and die cut the flowers and leaves using the “Gentle Silhouettes” Stamp Set from the March Card Kit ( full supply list and color chart below)

Card Base & Background…

For my card base, I cut and folded a piece of Layering White Card Stock into and A7 card. Then I cut a piece of Black Onyx Card Stock to approximately 4 1/4 x 6 1/4.

Using Master Layouts 8, I die cut a stitched rectangle from white card stock and then embossed it using the Lattice Embossing Folder by Gina K Designs.

A Few Extra Details…

My Inspiration: When my son was small, we had a little Butterfly Garden with a small water feature. It was one of our favorite spots in our yard and probably my inspiration for this sweet card.

To create this fun and whimsical scene, I added a short fence to house my little “Butterfly Garden”. Using the strip dies from Master Layouts 8, I die cut a few strips, cut them in half and slightly rounded the edges using Gina K Designs Corner Punch.

Putting It All Together…

Once all my images were colored and my elements completed, I began to assemble my card. I attached the lattice embossed panel to the black card stock and then attache it to my card base.

I played all my elements out to be sure everything fit the way I envisioned it. I first attached the tall greenery to the lattice panel on the right side of the card. Then I attached one of the florals on top of the greenery using adhesive foam to add dimension.

My fence was then attached with foam adhesive over the greenery and the first floral element. Once my fence was in place, I was able to attach the other floral element, with foam adhesive, and I poked a few more leaves through the fence using glue. I placed my Kitten, and few Butterflies, leaving room for my sentiment. All of which I used foam adhesive to pop everything up and add whimsy and dimension to my card…a lot of dimension with this one!

For a final touch, I added a few black gems to lure your eye right into my little Butterfly Garden.
