Gingerbread Christmas Plaque

Hello Friends…
Welcome back to my Studio! I’m so glad you joined me today!

GINGERBREAD Mug Love…

Today, I am working with Ink n’ Splatter’s NEW Gingerbread Mug Love Stamp Set and coordinating Die Set (sold separately) for a lovely hanging Christmas Wall, or Desk, Decoration.

My background and flowers were created using the Christmas Holidays Pattern Paper Collection.

Plaque…

This project was inspired by episode #187 of Craft Roulette.

  • Project: “Card Stock – Not Card Stock”
  • Element: Collars
  • Colors: Santa’s WOrkshop
  • Random: Zig Zag

For Cardstock – Not Cardstock, I decided to use a wooden block that my husband kindly cut and sanded for me. If you would like to create a wall/decoration like this, you can use anything you like…truthfully, it would be just as beautiful as a Christmas card as well.

Coloring…

I painted my wooden block with white acrylic paint and set it aside to dry.

I stamped all my images on marker paper with black hybrid ink and colored them with Copic markers.

Background…

Since the color parameters were “Santa’s Workshop”, I chose a couple of rich reds and white pattern paper for my background. I cut them to size and distressed the edges to help to give my project a snowy feel.

The Element Parameter called for a collar…I decided it would be super cute to create a collar for the Gingerbread Kids to peek over. For the collar I die cut a filagree border and then die cut it again with an oval to form the collar shape.

Flowers…

I die cut several flower shapes from the red pattern paper that I used for my base. I love how the pattern paper provided texture and a wintery feel to my flowers. I also die cut several flower shapes from white card stock and layered the blooms.

I shaped my flowers and dotted them with white enamel dots. I also die cut several leaves and berries from white and green card stock and arranged them under my patterned flowers.

Finishing Touches…

I finished off my plaque by adding red ribbon to the back so I could hang it on display and made a bow to top it off. That was all it took to create this year’s first handmade Christmas decoration.

hope I have inspired you today to create something Fabulously Fun & Heart-Warming. Your creations will bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
